Go Fast Mods

  • Summit Racing 2.5" Exhaust Cutout with 2.5" McCord Power Plate electric valve
  • 300zx ECU and MAFS with AshSPEC ZEMulator from Z1motorsports (Not currently installed in car, still testing)
  • Ignition timing advanced 12 degrees* (only w/ 100 octane, I run 5 degrees advanced on street)
  • NGK V-Power Copper BRK4E-11 Spark Plugs (One Step Hotter)*
  • Two 11lb Mazda Millenia 15x6 wheels wrapped in 14lb 22x8x15 Mickey Thompson ET Drag Slicks (26 unsprung lb reduction)*
  • Two 11lb 1994 Mazda RX7 16x4 spare wheels with Metzeler motorcycle tires (36 unsprung lbs reduction)*
  • 12lb Summit Racing plastic seat with 8 lbs worth of brackets (20lb reduction)
  • Torque Converter Lockup Switch

14.839 @ 92.28 mph w/ 2.29 60' at Fayetteville Motorsports Park in North Carolina on 1/26/03 - Ran without Zemulator, Millenia wheels, or torque converter - 490 feet BELOW sea level air density

Stock 1/4 Mile Time

16.60 @ 84 mph

Future Mods (in chronological order)

  • VE ECU tuning with Zemulator Z32 tuning system made by Ash Powers
  • Custom Built Turbo kit with 7psi to start with
  • Built transmission with 4.08 gears and other goodies from NRH Performance Transmissions (I decided to do my turbo kit before building up the tranny.  I realized that it's no big deal to pop the stock tranny.)
